Welcome to the web site of the Cuyahoga Weavers Guild!
This site is an archive of information by, about and for weavers and other fans of fiber. Most areas of the site are open and available for the whole wide web to see.
Some areas are accessible by password to members only. I will not be adding new essays till Arlene has cycled them through the newsletter, and the current newsletter is password protected. When the next newsletter is published, essays, articles and photographs will be released into the publicly available archives.
We started this site with whatever was sitting in my computer: pictures I had taken and essays from newsletters past. We can add the same from your computers. I do assume we have permission to add things you all have written for the newsletter and am anxious to see more from others here. I believe we will eventually figure how to have you contribute things remotely, but until we do, please send things in .pdf form so I can copy things and drop them in. If I have to type them in one key at a time, well, it might take a bit longer to get to it. You can each have your own little cyber-galleries within this site. I believe it handles video as well as words and pictures. We have oodles of space left to play in, and it’s our playground, so please contribute.
We’re all new to this blogging thing, so don’t assume you’re expected to be knowlegable in things that we ourselves are just now figuring out. We encourage you to leave comments on this site. Assume the world can see what you’ve said but know it can be deleted if need be. This site is our window to the world, so remember to use your proper manners. If you see an error, know it can be fixed as long as we know where to go. We are still building, so come back often to see what’s new. We’ll give it a few months test run and then vote to keep it or kill it.
Your web weaver,
Victoria
with the patient and unending technical support of Darcy
