The Instructor:
Kelly Marshal will be leading our workshop that focuses on Rep Weave in the creation on “Custom Woven Interiors”.
Kelly Marshall is recognized for combining rep weave’s rich texture and linear structure into extraordinary textiles inspired by the aesthetics of the Arts & Crafts movement, contemporary design, and traditional Scandinavian weaving. In 2012 Marshall published Custom Woven Interiors: Bringing color and design home with Rep weave, including over 18 projects, design inspiration, and technique and tips on weaving Rep. Students will get a 25% discount on purchase of the book.

Description of the workshop:
The workshop is for intermediate to experienced weavers. Each student will be working on their own loom. They can select between a 4 or 8 shaft 10” table runner pattern that will be send out to them about 6 weeks before the class. They can use Kelly’s color ideas or select their own. Their looms should be set up at the beginning of the workshop. Below is a day by day outline and a class write up. For a 3 day workshop, the third day is more in depth discussion of designing in the morning and working on their own designs and finishing up weaving in the afternoon.
Day 1-morning: intros, basics of Rep weave, design options for their pattern.
Afternoon: work on looms, weaving demonstration, beginning and ending a project.
Day 2-morning: work on looms, Rep structure and drafting.
The lecture open to all guild members is planned for the afternoon followed by weaving.
Day 3-In depth design in Rep, and designing a next project, finishing up

Dates:
2026; April 10,11,12 Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Start at 9:00 AM each day
We are planning on being able to drop off our looms on Thursday afternoon so we will be ready to begin the workshop on Friday morning.
Location:
The workshop will be held a Lake Farmpark.
Cost:
The fee for the three day workshop will be $270. For those who cannot attend on Sunday there will be an option to make it a two day workshop at $180 for two days.
The workshop is being co-sponsored by Cuyahoga Weavers and Western Reserve Spinners and Weavers. To reserve your spot in the workshop please send a check for $50 to Bob Breitzmann that is made out to either Guild. There is room for up to 14 students.
