Viking Knitting with Tracy Jackson

Many of you have seen the examples of Viking Knitting made by Tracy Jackson.

Now’s your chance to learn how to make those wire wonders.

Class starts at 10am in the South meeting room of the Warrensville Branch of the Cuyahoga Public Library.

All materials needed will be provided.

$25 includes all fees and materials for the day.

October meeting is Thursday, October 19. It is a field trip.

Thursday, October 19th Guild Meeting/Field Trip 11:30 am

Join us on a field trip to the Sculpture Center at 1834 E. 123rd St. in Cleveland to view the exhibit “The Nowness of Then: Lillian Tyrell’s Disaster Blankets and Objections and Connections, Fiber Artists Talk Back”. We will meet in the Sculpture Center parking lot at 11:30 am.

When we finish there, we’ll pop over next door to the Artist Archives of the Western Reserve to view their “In the Details” exhibit.

Both shows are fiber focused and both shows included the work of our very own Debbie Silver!

We recommend arranging your own carpools. Lunch out after will be discussed soon or maybe on the fly.

Loom for sale. CWG received this request to post the sale of this loom,

a nearby opportunity for a newish and quality loom.

Mimi, the contact for this sale writes

“Thank you so much for your response.  I have attached photos of the loom.
I believe you will agree that it is gorgeous.  I understand that it cost
over $1000 when new.  The people who are donating it take very good care of things.  We will be picking it up on Saturday, April 22nd which is the first day for donations to our Trinkets ‘n Treasures rummage sale.  The sale
itself will start on Wednesday night, April 26th from 5:30 to 8:00, $10
admission.  The sale continues Thursday and Friday from 11 to 5 and Saturday until  12:30.  The sale will take place at The Federated Church Family Life Center, 16349 Chillicothe Rd., Chagrin Falls, OH 44023.  I am not sure when on the 22nd the loom will arrive at the Family Life Center.  It can be viewed there on Sunday, April 23rd from 11 to 4 and on Monday and Tuesday, 9 to 5, and Wednesday from 9 to noon.  

We are hoping that it will find a good home.  Thank you for your help in
publicizing this opportunity.”

Take in for our Chagrin Falls show. Bring your favorite current project to play with. We plan a relaxing day where we can get to know our new members better and catch up on news with the names we know.

“Hi and Happy New Year–

Hard to believe the New Year is here already almost two weeks and weavers is about to meet. So, this time, thanks to Jean Jackson’s great suggestion, I have made a small entry form for each weaver to use. Please attach firmly the forms to each of your pieces.

And here are some details about the show: There is also a lockable case in the main room of the library that we can use for display of smaller items.
