Calling all cookies for CWG’s show and demonstration sessions

CWG requests that anyone coming to the show during our demonstration hours, whether they are actually weaving or spinning, to bring some cookies. This will be in lieu of the reception due to the nature of the event.
Cookies are needed for these sessions:
Saturday, June 8 for 11:00 am to 3:00 pm
Sunday, June 9 for 1:00 to 3:00 pm

CWG upcoming show details. Prepare your work for May 2 and 16

Hi Weavers,
We are but a couple weeks away from our hanging of a show in Chagrin Falls. Here are some guidelines to make that exciting and successful.
Bring items to be hung to:
    May 2nd. Study Group at Jessie’s house
    May 16th Guild meeting at Praxis
    Or contact me directly to make arrangements individually
    I will return your items to you at the June 20th. meeting of the Guild.
    Chagrin Arts Gallery Space between Huntington Bank and Bell & Flower Restaurant
    Parking will be not only difficult, but a mess because of the carnival being set-up for the holiday weekend.
We need you to sign up to help demonstrate at the show. We will have a loom there for your imagination.
Here are the times for demonstrations:
                                1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Please email me or call me to sign up for a 2 hour shift. I really need your help! Please !

You will need the following information on each of your entries in the show:
    1. Item description    (example, Twill place mat)
    2. Yarn used            (example, cotton)
    3. Your Name
    4. Your city
    5. Price or NFS
    6. Value for insurance if NFS

Show Business—upcoming plans—Bravo Patty!

Hello Weavers,
As Exhibit Coordinator for the Guild, I was disappointed we were not able to schedule our regular show at the Beachwood Library in the Spring of 2019. After presenting some options to the Guild at our January meeting, I am very pleased to report we have a go-ahead for our show to be at the Chagrin Arts office showroom during May and the first week of June. I received enthusiastic responses to this option at the meeting. The visibility of this space is excellent for walking traffic in Chagrin Falls, especially during the event filled May and June months.
 We will be able to hang our show in Early May, have it available for Mother’s Day, Memorial Day and during the Art by the Falls art show June 8 & 9th.  The Executive Director of Chagrin Arts was also very enthusiastic to help us with opening hours, like week ends, and clearing the space of present art. The Director of the Valley Art Center was wonderfully supportive of the Guild’s show during Art by the Falls. This will mean we will want to set a schedule of weavers at our show during some of the greatest traffic times for the Village events. Maybe with demonstrations.
 I have a wonderful list of Show Committee volunteers with whom I will be in touch and we will send details to everyone in the next months. Meantime, of course– thinking of Spring, Weave On!

CWG Beachwood Library Show Opening and Reception is Sunday, June 4

Sunday, June 4 is the opening and reception at Beachwood CCPL Library. This is the Cuyahoga Weaver Guild semi-annual show.

Please note that construction at the intersection of Shaker Blvd (westbound) and Richmond Road will require entry to the library from Richmond Road.

“Hi and Happy New Year–

Hard to believe the New Year is here already almost two weeks and weavers is about to meet. So, this time, thanks to Jean Jackson’s great suggestion, I have made a small entry form for each weaver to use. Please attach firmly the forms to each of your pieces.

And here are some details about the show: There is also a lockable case in the main room of the library that we can use for display of smaller items.
 The Timetable:
Take in of items: Thurs. Jan. 19th. Guild Meeting
Set up: Jan.31 10 am
Reception: Feb 2, 2017  5:00-7:00 pm
    Chagrin Falls Library. Friends of the   Library will provide refreshments
