Might anyone like to follow Elfriede’s lead and send word and /or photos of your weaving life?
Elfriede writes:
We need to keep our spirits up. After this round of dish towels I plan to weave some shopping bags. What is everyone else doing?
Stay well. Elfriede

Point-Line-Pattern-Plane exhibit at Heights Arts
Joan sends this.
I thought that this might be of interest to the guild. There is a wonderful small show at Heights Arts (on Lee Rd next to the Cedar Lee theater.
It’s called Point-Line-Pattern-Plane.
The show runs 1/17-3/1.
The curator is Janice Lessman-Moss
Contributors are: Lauire Addis, Lena Brebenel, Si-Yun Chang, Rebecca Cross, Hildur Asgeirsdottir Jonsson, Andrea Myers, Jessica Pinsky, and Katlin Shae.
Ekphrastacy: Artists Talk + Poets Respond will be Thursday, 2/13 at 7 pm at the gallery
The write-up explains this a “an opportunity for visual artists, poets and the community to connect in discussion over the evening’s array of artworks. Hear the artists speak personally about their process and thoughts behind their work.”
Both the exhibit and 2/13 program are free
She says, “the exhibit is small, but terrific. Hope you are able to go see it.”

STUDY GROUP 2019 – 2020
It took very little time for Study Group to find a topic for 2019-2020 to weave and learn when we met at Jessie’s house in May. We enthusiastically decided on “Weave a Pictorial! “ And what a variety of structures or methods we discussed.
Here are some of the ideas for how to weave a pictorial.
Tapestry
Pick Up
Double Weave
Rya
Split Shed Biederwand
We offer very few restrictions, just weave something, in your choice of structures that has a picture quality to it. A few years ago, we took a survey of the people who came to our show at the Beachwood Library and the favorite piece was Nancy’s tapestry—a pictorial. So, this exercise may produce some new energy to our shows this year.
Our first Study Group gathering will be at Patty’s house, 10 am, October 3, 2019. Please come prepared to sign up for hosting or presenting for the year. Please check the address on our Guild roster.
Have fun and weave on!

Sad news to share
Our long time member and weaving friend has passed. Elly Rose died today.
It saddens us that she will no longer be with us for our gatherings and lending her special comraderie.
